By now I’m sure you’ve all heard of internet marketing, social networking and email
marketing. Who doesn’t have a Facebook account or frequented Youtube to view videos?
The truth is we may all be doing something related to social media but are we doing it
effectively and can we turn our actions into do-re-mi?!
In this post, I want to go over some of the main neglected tactics that when executed
properly, can drive the targeted traffic for which you’ve been looking.
1) Article Marketing - You might be afraid of writing but article marketing is one of
the sure fire ways to get your name out and to start building exposure to your brand.
There is limitless material out there to write about and if you still are finding
yourself stuck on finding a topic, go to Amazon.com and find something that interests
you. Buy and read the material and then write a review on it. It’s that easy!
Then, at the bottom of the review (article), remember to link to your blog and/or
company website. Submit your article to the numerous article directories. Not only
did you just create a boatload of significant one-way backlinks to your site but you
also just casted yourself as a leader. By writing one article, you are learning
something new AND giving yourself credibility online.
2) The Press Release - It’s amazing how with one simple piece of writing you can
achieve the following: get almost immediate high ranking in search engines, posture
yourself as an expert, increase the ranking of your pages that the press release
links to and bring a mass of qualified traffic to your site. Not to mention
a press release will appear to make you sound more objective than an advertisement.
With some practice, it’s not difficult to write your own press release but if you
have no interest, you can outsource and have it written for you.
3) Video Marketing - You know how interested you get when you see someone’s pictures
and you can then put a face to a name? Well, imagine how powerful video can be?
All you need is a camera, a script and some simple editing software and you are
good to go! Once you’re finished, insert your link to your site at the bottom of
the video and BOOM, more exposure and you’re viewed as a leader once again.
4) Comment Posting - When you’re reading a blog that is about a similar industry to
yours or maybe you’re checking out a competitor’s site, make a post. Answer a
question, add your comment or review a product. When you do this, you will be asked
to enter your URL. Other visitors will read your comment and view you as a
knowledgeable voice and will want to peruse your site.
5) Link Sharing - I’m sure there’s a website out there that you keep seeing and that
is getting quite a bit of traffic. Instead of just surfing it, why not contact the
site and ask if it would be possible to exchange links? This means that they would
put your site on their links page and you would then do the same for them. Perhaps
they are your competition, but if you can both get eyes to your site, then it’s a
win-win!
I hope you enjoyed those 5 easy tips. Taking advantage of those tips will help to
increase the traffic to your site and thus, increase your chances for making money
online. Just be sure your site and/or blog is current and provides value in the
content you provide. Do this and you will no doubt have satisfied repeat visitors.
